Santa's Drawers

Ladies, I fell in love with this tutorial project. I found it at   http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/santasdrawers/.  It's called Santa's Drawers.
It is the cutest thing.  I just had to make it of course.  The little drawers pull out and I guess you can fill them with candy or any other treat or gift that will fit.  You can make this age appropriate.  For children you can use a more juvenile paper print.  You can make it for any occasion or holiday:  Christmas, Birthday's, Anniversaries or any gift-giving occasion.  Check out my version.  Remember this is my first attempt.  I guarantee you the next one will be perfect.

I think I need to take a course in Staging or Display. I'm working on it.  I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for.  I might just put it on the shelf and look at.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and look.  It's really appreciated!

Monday Greeting card - Outlawz challenge 11/30

Good morning all you lovely people.  I hope your weekend was prosperous for you... emotionally, spiritually, or financially.  I was involved in a business experience this weekend with a Jewelry artist by the name of Jahmilla Sims. She is located here in Chicago.   Her companies name is Moonjellie Creations, Inc.  I was so impressed because she is a young black lady that exemplifies a real entrepreneural spirit.  She had an idea in her head and she didn't let anyone stop her or prevent her from accomplishing what she wanted to do.
She rented a Hotel meeting room which was set up to display her beautiful jewelry items for sale and invited other crafty people she knew, to come exhibited their items for sale.  Basically it was very well organized from her advertisements to raffle giveaways at the end of  the affair.
She is someone to watch because she is on the move upward!

I was also able to complete my Monday project for www.outlawzchallenges.com.  Our challenge for this Monday Greeting card was to make a card with the color orange as the main color or include oranges in our design. I chose to use one of the images from Eureka stamps.  I chose the Butterfly/flower image because this gave me a chance to brush up on my coloring skills with my copic markers.  (I get lazy at times) I think I did okay.  Still have to work on that shading technique.  I enhanced my butterfly with a liquid embossing. (difficult to see in the photo)I added a cloth doily that was spray painted with Lindy's stamp gangs Coffee Bean Copper.  I added my bling and Iamroses flowers and this is the results:

Non-traditional Thanksgiving card

Good morning everyone.  I hope you all had a good nights sleep.  I've got several things in my life that have caused me to be concened, but I'm not going to worry about them.  I have prayed over them and put them in the Lord's hand.  Surely He will give me the strength to deal with them.

Below is my first card entry as a Design Team member in Mondays Greeting challenges on The Outlawz challenges.  I submitted this card (non-tradional Thanksgiving card) hoping to show that all Thanksgiving cards don't have to have turkeys or cornicopia's on them.

I hope you all have a wonderful  Thanksgiving Holiday!  DON'T EAT TOO MUCH!

Wooden Coasters

It's 12:30 at nite or a.m. and I'm still up puttering around in my craft room.  I just finished making these coaster out of some wooden floor sample pieces I got at Home Depot, several years ago. I think they were free at the time.  When I saw them at the store, I just knew I could use them for something.
I think they will make cute Christmas presents for friends and co-workers.  I'm going to try to sell them at another Craft fair I'm participating in this weekend.

These are the supplies I used:
Gloss Modge Podge and Liquid embossing for the coating
4 Wooden floor sample pieces
12   1/2" Vinyl bumpers and 4 round mosaic pieces to support the coasters
Sharpie brown wood touch-up markers
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Flowers and trim for embellishing
Graphic 45 8x8 papers from the Tropical Traveloque collection
Vellum sentiments

The wood pieces measured 3 1/2x 4 7/8 inches.  I used the Gloss mod podge to adhere the paper to the pieces after I painted the edges of the wood pieces with the brown marker.

I then added some vellum sentiments to the surface (not shown here) and applied another layer of Modge podge on one of the blocks.  I used liquid embossing on the other blocks for a higher shine.

I used vinyl bumpers and mosaic circles as supports.

I embellished each with flowers and trim and here are the end results.  I Luv, Luv, Luv them!

Well I guess I can turn in now.  I feel like I have really accomplished something.  One of these days I'm going to reach out of my comfort zone and make a video.

Nite all!

Christmas cards

Hi fellow crafters, I'm back again.  Boy have I been busy.  I've been making Christmas cards and packs to sell.  My sister has requested her usual 10, and I've made some to sell at another upcoming Craft event.  Of course I have to make my own to send out because everyone of my friends and relatives expects handmade cards from me.  I'm sure it's the same for you!

These pictures are just a few of the cards I made:

I find that when I sell my cards in a pack of 4 (all are the same) they seem to sell better.

I entered this card in Monday greeting card challenge at www.outlawzchallenges.ning.com  Its made up of things from your stashes.

Well I think I've got a good start don't you?  I'm sure I'll probably will be making more before Christmas gets here.

Thanks Ladies for stopping by, leave a comment letting me know what you think.

LUV,
Edie
